About the role

UGL are currently seeking a detail oriented Finance Lead to join our existing project team in Perth, WA. The role will commence in April, on a full-time permanent basis.
Location : Perth CBD
Roster : Monday – Friday

The Finance Lead will function as a trusted Business Partner, working closely with the Finance Manager and Project Manager to deliver financial analysis, reporting, and strategic insights. This role is pivotal in managing revenue and expense reporting for Operations, ensuring timely and accurate financial results, and providing actionable insights to drive business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Partnering: Act as the go-to finance contact for the Project Managers, providing financial support for tenders, business cases, and process improvements.
  • Monthly Reporting: Ensure efficient month-end processes, align all balance sheet reconciliations with best practices, and deliver comprehensive financial reports.
  • Team Management: Oversee and guide the Finance and Administration teams, ensuring smooth completion of transactional tasks and skill development for team members.
  • Cost Control & Budgeting: Monitor budget forecasts, upload Cost Breakdown Structures into SAP, and ensure financial processes align with project requirements.
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Participate in client meetings, produce reports, and foster strong client relationships.
  • Value-Added Insights: Analyze financial data, model contract performance, and work closely with Contract Managers to optimize profitability.

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualifications: Degree in Commerce or Accounting; CPA/CA or equivalent.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 10 years in finance, with demonstrated success in managing multi-disciplined project teams.
  • Experience with Operations & Maintenance contracts under multiple commercial structures (Lump Sum / SOR) is highly desirable.
  • Advanced Excel Skills (required)
  • Demonstrated solid commercial understanding (required)
  • SAP knowledge (preferred)
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, commercial acumen, and experience in forecasting, budgeting, and cash management.
  • Competencies: Proactive decision-making, analytical mindset, innovative problem-solving, and a commitment to continuous learning.
