Our operations span across Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Greater China, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Ukraine, and Vietnam, with exciting new developments constantly expanding our footprint.

As part of our exciting growth in Northern Queensland, we are seeking a dynamic, hands-on General Manager to lead our team and take charge of the operations at our newest hotel in the heart of Townsville.

This 100-room property, featuring food and beverage outlets, conference facilities, and recreational amenities, is set to undergo a major refurbishment by the end of 2025, presenting a unique opportunity to shape its future success.

POSITION SUMMARY:

In this leadership role, you'll manage every aspect of the hotel's operations, including guest services, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance. You'll be responsible for driving both operational excellence and business performance, ensuring that guests experience exceptional service at every touchpoint.

Beyond daily operations, you'll also play a pivotal role in shaping marketing strategies, optimising financial performance, and cultivating a motivated, high-performing team culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage the hotel's day-to-day operations, ensuring all departments function efficiently and deliver exceptional service.
  • Create and implement strategies to enhance the hotel's performance, profitability, and guest experience.
  • Oversee all aspects of guest services, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty through memorable experiences.
  • Develop, mentor, and inspire a motivated, collaborative, and high-performing team.
  • Control and manage financials, including forecasting, budgeting, cost control, and reporting.
  • Drive marketing initiatives to strengthen the hotel's brand presence and attract new business opportunities.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with local stakeholders, businesses, and community partners.
  • Handle guest feedback with professionalism, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and competitors, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety standards and all relevant legal regulations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience as a General Manager, Hotel Manager, or in a similar senior role within the hotel industry.
  • Strong understanding of hotel operations, including guest services, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to inspire and unite diverse teams.
  • Financial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets, P&L statements, and other financial reports.
  • Outstanding organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise and balance multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of hotel management software and booking systems (Opera).
  • A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Knowledge of the local market and established industry networks are advantageous.
  • A degree in hospitality management or related field is preferred but not required.
