Foghorn Brewery is Newcastle's Brewery. We are a well established multi award winning Craft Brewery and Restaurant located in the heart of Newcastle's CBD. We are looking for an experienced, talented and passionate Head Chef to take the reins and lead in this hands-on senior role

Qualifications and Experience

  • Chef's trade qualifications with proven experience in a similar role

  • A positive, friendly and enthusiastic attitude

  • The ability to excel under pressure in a high-volume environment with great problem-solving skills.

  • Great teamwork and communication skills.

  • Must reside and hold a valid working visa in Australia.

  • Experience in functions and events.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Grow and expand existing successful menu offering, with a focus on future development, weekly specials and innovative beer and food matchings.

  • Oversee financial performance of your kitchen, ensuring compliance, profitability, costings and budgets are achieved.

  • Freedom to develop menus for our regular showcase beer dinners and events with an emphasis on collaboration between kitchen and brewery.

  • Drive and mentor your team of existing chefs and cooks.

  • Supervise kitchen staff to effectively manage costs, maintain the recipe standards and cooking/preparation procedures ensuring consistency.

  • Workplace Health and Safety

  • Work closely with and owner and senior management.
