Manager - Engineering Strategy & Performance

Salary: Admin Grade 5 (commensurate with experience) + Superannuation + Salary Packaging

About the role:

The Engineering Strategy & Performance Manager is responsible for leading the strategic performance, governance, compliance and continuous improvement of engineering services across Western Health. The role develops engineering strategies, performance frameworks, standards and governance systems that improve reliability, resilience, asset performance and operational efficiency across all campuses.

Working closely with the Chief Engineer, Strategic Engineering, Facilities Management teams and Project teams, the position drives engineering excellence through data-driven decision making, digital transformation, asset performance reporting, business intelligence, technical standards, engineering assurance and organisational capability.

The role provides strategic leadership for engineering performance reporting, maintenance optimisation, compliance assurance, engineering risk management and engineering system governance while supporting the successful planning and delivery of capital infrastructure programs.

This position will see you working across all Western Health Campuses with Sunshine as the primary office. Due to the nature of the Department and the role, out of hours work may be required.

About you

Tertiary qualifications at Bachelor level for Engineering.

Experience in the planning, design review, fault analysis and quality assessment of multi-discipline engineering systems in a brownfield environment.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical matters to non-technical colleagues at all levels, both within Western Health and externally.

A good team player who is confident, well-motivated and capable of working under pressure, with an excellent record for meeting deadlines.

Proficient in the use of PC Windows applications adaptable to new software for document management.

Effective communication, negotiation and presentation skills and excellent report writing skills.

Quality improvement, project management and change management experience within a complex organisation.

Demonstrated planning, organisation and analytical abilities.

Demonstrated sound judgement and innovation in problem solving and generating positive solutions to work situations.

Exceptional ability to synthesise wide sources of information of different veracities and identify various risks and opportunities available.

Experience with service delivery across a multiple campus health organisation (desirable).

Experience working in low resource contexts (desirable).

Experience working in highly governed engineering industries (desirable).
