Coordinator Facilities (Two Opportunities) Lead the teams that keep Canning's community buildings, sports grounds and public spaces safe, well maintained and welcoming. We have two permanent leadership roles in our Facilities team. Both report to the Service Lead Facilities, are based at our Works Depot in Wilson and offer the same salary. About the role
s Coordinator Facilities Maintenance You'll lead the delivery of maintenance activities and minor capital works relating to our buildings, sports lighting, park structures and sustainability initiatives across the City's facilities. You'll lead a team of seven, including the Supervisor Facilities Projects and the Supervisor Facilities Maintenance, and direct internal trades and contractors to deliver planned, preventative and reactive maintenance services. This role suits someone with a building or trades background who enjoys planning maintenance works, delivering minor projects and keeping assets safe, compliant and fit for purpose for the long term. Coordinator Facilities Operations You'll lead the services that keep City facilities clean, safe and well-presented every day. Your team of 17 includes the Canning Response Crew (graffiti removal and sign maintenance), the cleaning team and the Facilities Contracts Lead. You'll also oversee building compliance, statutory inspections and planned maintenance programs. This role suits a hands-on operational leader who enjoys responding to community needs, managing contractors and lifting service standards across a busy, multi-site portfolio. A snapshot of the roles:
• Plan and deliver preventative, scheduled and reactive works across a diverse facilities portfolio
• Manage contractors, procurement and service agreements to deliver quality and value
• Keep facilities compliant with legislation and WHS requirements
• Manage budgets and help prepare the annual capital and operating programs
• Build strong relationships with community groups, facility users and internal teams What you will bring:
• At least five years' experience in facilities management, building maintenance or project management
• Proven leadership of teams and contractors, including managing performance
• Sound knowledge of building construction, services, compliance and relevant standards
• Experience managing contracts, budgets, procurement and work scheduling
• Certificate IV in Leadership and Management or Frontline Management, or equivalent supervisory experience
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and ERP systems such as TechnologyOne
• Current WA C Class driver's licence and the ability to obtain a National Police Clearance (White Card required for the Operations role) Highly regarded: a tertiary qualification in project management or building construction, a trade qualification (carpentry, electrical, plumbing or HVAC), a restricted asbestos licence, knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and local government experience.
