About the Team
The Delivery and Support Branch plays a key role in supporting the AEC’s mission by leading the preparation and delivery of electoral services.
The Branch is responsible for the preparation and delivery of critical electoral operations and works closely with stakeholders to deliver outcomes that support the integrity, effectiveness and continuous improvement of Australia’s electoral system. There are currently four teams across the Delivery and Support Branch, including the Event Management and Delivery Assurance team, Event Technology team, Polling and Count Operations team and Voter Services team.
The Opportunities
The Delivery and Support Branch is looking to engage multiple Assistant Directors across the Polling and Count Operations, Event Management and Delivery Assurance, and Voter Services sections. These are exciting opportunities to join the AEC and contribute to work that has a direct impact on Australia's democratic processes.
As the AEC progresses towards its target level of event readiness, these roles will play a critical role in strengthening workforce capability, supporting operational readiness and ensuring the agency is well positioned to deliver future electoral events while maintaining business-as-usual operations.
Polling and Count Operations
The Assistant Director, Polling and Count Operations will work closely with the Director and staff to administer key federal election operational doctrine, including policies, standard operating procedures and election procedure handbooks.
Voter Services
The Assistant Director, Voter Services will work closely with the Director and staff to manage operational and logistical projects that support the delivery of the remote and mobile polling services program, including developing project plans, timelines and deliverables. The Voter Services section manages voting services for electors who are unable to attend a polling place or pre-poll voting centre during electoral events. These services include mobile polling, postal voting, overseas voting, remote polling, defence voting for the ADF, and telephone voting.
