About The Role
Are you a natural hunter with a passion for building something from the ground up? We are looking for an energetic Business Development Manager to join our vibrant team in Sydney In this high-impact, proactive role, you will lead the charge in driving net-new revenue by unlocking fresh opportunities across Direct clients and expanding our footprint within the NSW Independent agency landscape. Reporting directly to the Head of Independent & Direct, NSW, you'll play a pivotal role in connecting inspiring brands with Mamamia's powerful audience of millions of women, making a direct impact on our commercial growth and mission. Here's some of the stuff you can expect to be doing if you join us: Proactively building and managing a strong pipeline of net-new Direct clients and NSW Independent agencies from a standing start. Prioritising outreach across target accounts, with a special focus on key female-skewing brands within the NSW IMAA agency network. Running dynamic outbound prospecting cadences-including cold outreach, networking, and referrals-to convert exciting new prospects into first-time clients. Crafting high-converting, tailored first-touch pitch materials and bespoke proposals for early-stage prospects. Driving net-new deal volume and revenue growth to successfully reverse Direct market declines and build Mamamia's market presence. Seamlessly managing deals, booking schedules, and pipeline activity within CRM Overseeing initial campaign delivery and post-campaign analysis to ensure a stellar experience for your newly won clients. Partnering with internal teams for a smooth handover once new relationships are established, keeping your focus protected on fresh acquisition. Now, a Bit About You 3-4+ years of media or digital sales experience with a proven track record as a proactive "hunter" rather than an account manager. Demonstrated ability to build a pipeline from scratch and convert cold prospects into long-term commercial partners. Thrives under a structure that rewards initiative, deal volume, and new-business acquisition. Highly resilient, self-motivated, and organized with the drive to sustain a high-energy outbound cadence. Confident and authentic communicator who can build fast credibility with brand decision-makers and Independent agencies alike. Skilled in using CRM and media booking tools (such as Boostr or Monday CRM) to manage deals and keep pipeline data seamless. A collaborative team player who aligns with our purpose-driven mission, approaches feedback with curiosity, and puts our audience at the heart of everything.
