Security Manager Build and lead the physical security function for one of Australia's most significant new digital infrastructure campuses. Location Kogan near Dalby, Queensland Reports to Soft Services Manager About Zerra DC Zerra DC develops and operates hyperscale data centre campuses across Australia, Japan and India, delivering capacity at scale into markets being reshaped by cloud and artificial intelligence. Western Downs Digital Park at Kogan in Queensland is a major new hyperscale campus. These appointments offer the chance to join the operational leadership team early and help establish the standards, systems and culture that will underpin a safe, resilient and high-performing live environment. The role The Security Manager will take site-based responsibility for the physical security of Zerra DC's Western Downs campus. This is a hands-on leadership appointment with the autonomy to direct a 24-hour contracted guard force and protect people, customer information and critical infrastructure across a large regional site. You will establish disciplined day-to-day security operations, own the response to incidents and investigations, maintain customer and regulatory compliance, and represent the campus with emergency services, law enforcement, regulators and the local community. What you will lead
• Physical security operations across access control, CCTV, alarms, perimeter protection and visitor and contractor management.
• The performance, rostering, training and standards of the contracted 24-hour guard force and other security vendors.
• Security incident response, investigations, escalation and emergency preparedness.
• Compliance with customer audit requirements, Zerra DC standards and relevant Australian licensing and WHS obligations.
• Security risk assessments for site access, construction activity, expansion works and operational change.
• Guarding contracts, security technology maintenance, upgrades, budgets and forecasts.
• Security awareness and resilience culture across employees, contractors and campus partners. What you will bring You will be an experienced physical security leader who is comfortable making sound decisions independently in a high-security operational environment. Data centre experience is valuable, but strong experience from critical infrastructure, defence, transport, energy, mining, large industrial sites or another complex 24-hour operation can also translate well.
• At least seven years of physical security management experience, including leadership of teams and contracted guarding services at scale.
• Strong knowledge of access control, CCTV, intrusion detection and electronic security platforms such as Genetec.
• Practical experience leading incident response and investigations, with clear judgement around escalation.
• The credibility to work with customers, operational leaders, contractors, emergency services, regulators and the community.
• High integrity, discretion and clear written and verbal communication.
• ASIS, business continuity, security, risk, military, policing or emergency-services credentials are highly regarded but not essential. Why join Zerra DC
