**Northern Rivers In Home Care is a not for profit approved In Home Care Provider on the Gold Coast and Northern Rivers areas. In Home Child Care is an education funded by the Australian Government Department of Education. It is designed to help families who have no access to existing child care services or families whose circumstances mean that existing child care cannot meet their needs.**

We are currently working with DCJ to support a family. There are complex needs and child protection concerns around the family/children, so experience is essential.

**Overview of family**:
We will provide the family with support around parenting roles and assess their parenting capacity.

The Mother has an intellectual disability and is supported with NDIS support workers in the home to support her. The father works throughout the week and some Saturdays, he has been observed to need some additional support in parenting / guiding to support both children.

**Children in the home**:

- 1x 11 year old and has a diagnosis of Level 3 ASD and is nonverbal and is also supported with NDIS
- 1 x 22-months and reported to not be meeting developmental milestones.

1 x 11-year-old attends school during the day and 1 x 22-month-old attends playgroups/childcare a few times a week but is limited due to availability.

**Hourly rate**:$45/50 per hour

**Hours of care**:
Monday - Friday: 6-8pm

Sunday: 9am - 1pm

Your role would be to support the family around meal times / bed time / supervision after school etc.

Routines to be put in place and upskilling both parents to ensure consistency.

**The successful applicant will have the following prerequisites**:

- _**Certificate III in Children's Services (min 3 years experience working with children with complex or challenging needs) or Disability Support Qualification (min 3 years experience working with children)**_
- _**Hold a current First Aid and CPR Certificate - Childcare First Aid Training HLTAID0011 and HLTAID009**_
- _**WWCC and Police Clearance**_
- _**Liability insurance (once successfully placed)**_
- _**Medical Clearance**_
- _**Child Protection (refresher required every 2 years)**_
- _**ABN (this role is for a self employed/contractor)**_
- _**Photo ID**_
- _**PRODA RA (the office will assist you with this)**_

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $35.00 per hour

- Afternoon shift
- Morning shift

Licence/Certification:

- Police Clearance (preferred)
- ABN (preferred)
- Child Protection Refresher (preferred)
- HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting (required)
- HLTAID009 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (required)
- Working with Children Check (preferred)
