**AS A DATABASE ADMINISTARTOR YOU WILL...**

**Requirements**:
**YOUR DAYS WILL INVOLVE**:

- Work closely with the Head of Academy and key contacts from the school, including the ICT Manager and other members of the IT Department to provide effective management of the College's data management needs, in particular the student information system (Synergetic - SQL).
- Database and systems administration, integration, and management.
- Actively manage the College database including performance monitoring, configuring, updating, backing up, securing and troubleshooting.
- Support the College with their use of Synergetic, Schoolbox and other integrated systems that cover attendance, reporting, excursions, event management, and other related systems and databases.
- Work closely with ICT Systems manager to devise and deliver a data management and retention vision, including best practice use of data, building dashboards, improving data integrity, establishingand improving file and data management, storage and archiving processes, and much more.
- Support all staff with their use of technology, with a particular focus on the use of Synergetic amongst teaching and administration staff.
- Conduct informal training sessions for any staff regarding Synergetic.
- Support executive team with development of College strategy by providing data informed insights across all aspects of the business.
- Respond to, and resolve support requests according to agreed processes and procedures.
- Develop, update and maintain documentation of data systems and integrations.
- Follow a Project Plan, manage competing priorities to deliver projects within set deadlines.
- Liaise and work with third parties and sub-contractors.
- Be willing to help out with some general Level 1 and Level 2 technical support if

needed.

**A LITTLE ABOUT YOU**
- A strong grasp of server development and maintenance, including troubleshooting, data migration, and backup and recovery tasks.
- Ability to isolate and resolve database issues in real time and maintain access and data integrity.
- Compliance - Government policies, procedures, and legislation as it relates to database and information management.
- Confidentiality - main a high level of confidentiality.
- A genuine customer focused style with energy and enthusiasm. Highly approachable.
- A clear communicator who can gather complex requirements from key stakeholders and develop solutions to help address pain points, improve processes, and create efficiencies. The ability to break down technical scenarios so that they are easily understood by non-technical stakeholders.
- A flexible, team player, with a willingness to listen and learn new skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Demonstrated experience of developing, growing, and fostering strong team relationships with team members and key stakeholders.
- Prior experience in a role that includes the administration and/or management of Synergetic (Student Information System) with a Microsoft SQL backend.
- Experience in managing MySQL.
- Experience with Schoolbox (Learning Management System).
- Office 365 Applications, in particular advanced use of Microsoft Excel
- Dashboarding / Power BI
