Join us and be part of a team making a real impact.Short DescriptionProvide electrical field service and technical support, including installations, maintenance, and repairs of automation equipment across diverse customer sites in South Australia.The OpportunityOur Visy Automation team in South Australia is seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Technician (Electrical) to deliver technical services to customers.
In this hands-on role, you will support machine installations, conduct scheduled maintenance, and provide troubleshooting and repairs across automation systems including PLCs, robotics, and servo drives.Reporting to the Field Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring high-performing machinery and customer satisfaction through timely, professional service and ongoing support.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform electrical service, installation, and repair work on Visy Automation and third-party equipment.Deliver PLC, touchscreen, and robotics programming/modifications as needed.Interpret AutoCAD circuit diagrams and recommend system improvements.Provide training to customer personnel on equipment operations and maintenance.Complete detailed service reports, including part numbers and recommendations.Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective outcomes.Maintain compliance with OHSE standards across all customer and internal sites.What You Will Bring to the TeamElectrical Trade Qualification with a current South Australian Electrical Licence.5+ years of post-trade experience in manufacturing, packaging, or a related industry.Proficiency with PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, or Omron), robotics, and AutoCAD.Strong communication skills, customer service focus, and a solutions mindset.Experience with SEW AC/DC drives and mechanical aptitude highly regarded.Flexibility to travel interstate (and occasionally internationally) as required.Certifications & LicencesMandatory: South Australian Electrical Licence.Desirable: Robotics experience (ABB preferred), post-trade qualifications in pneumatics, hydraulics, or engineering.What You'll Love When You Join UsVariety: Work across a broad range of automation systems and customer sites.Innovation: Be part of a forward-thinking team solving real-world engineering challenges.Growth: Opportunities for ongoing training, development, and progression within Visy Automation.Ready to take your technical career on the road?
