Coach - Secondary - Kelvin Grove State College, Teach Queensland

About the Role:This role will operate within the role description of Coach and has been implemented to:
support the leadership of Heads of Department in creating a dynamic and innovative learning environment;
more broadly and sustainably distribute leadership responsibilities; and
provide more formalised pathways for aspiring middle leaders.
Responsibilities: work collaboratively with and support the Head of Department: English to shape and implement strategic planning and foster a positive collegial culture within the department;
lead the development, implementation and review of specified curriculum programs, faculty initiatives and activities;
lead the development, implementation and review of teaching and learning strategies in specified programs;
contribute to the development of workforce capability, through the leadership of specified professional development and the targeted coaching and mentoring of staff;
undertake specified administrative tasks; and
deputise for the Head of Department, as required.
As a Coach, you will be allocated two additional non-teaching lines and are line-managed by your respective Head of Department.
The Head of Department: Pedagogy and Learning and the Head of Department: Middle School also work with you to support their capability development and consistent ways of working.About You:This Coach role is suitable for dedicated, motivated and enthusiastic individuals interested in pursuing middle leadership pathways.
Applicants should have experience in the English curriculum, from year 7 to year 12, and have the ability to work collaboratively and respectfully within a team environment.
The ideal candidate will set high standards for student and staff performance, be futures oriented and strategic, and provide a holistic and proactive approach to supporting the leadership of a large and complex department area in alignment with the college's strategic priorities.
