About the Role Based in Port Lincoln, this position will be responsible for driving a HC Heavy Vehicle within and around the Port Lincoln area and to and from Arno Bay.Duties include loading and unloading feed, nets, fish stock and operational inventory as well as general maintenance of equipment and yard work.
Additional responsibilities include assisting with net maintenance, rope work and other day-to-day shore-based activities which require a good level of physical fitness.This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced and versatile HC Driver seeking a diverse role within in a committed team environment.
Aquaculture or fishing industry experience will be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities Providing effective transport service with a focus on safety, operational needs, cost effectiveness and time managementEnsure compliance with Yumbah Clean Seas WHS practices, policies and proceduresLoad hauls to and from Arno Bay including some overnight weekly staysOperate forklifts to load/unload trucks, move inventory around depot/feed store and freezers, unload/load various boatsLiaise with skippers on boat requirements/etasOperate CV Crane, daily inspection, fill in log, report faultsPerform maintenance checks and required documentation on Heavy Vehicles and PlantDocument all receipt of goodsMaintain effective relationships with suppliers and customersWash down, clean and maintain trucks, load restraint equipment, signageRequired Certifications and SkillsCurrent HC Truck Licence and proven experienceCV Crane and Dogging LicenceThorough understanding of laws covering dangerous good transport, crane operation, dogging duties and forklift operationThorough understanding of Chain of ResponsibilityGood written and oral communicationThorough organisational skills and ability to prioritise and schedule workGood problem-solving ability with an outcome focusAbility to maintain safe work practicesGood level of physical fitness required for a variety of dutiesAbility to work a rotating 5 days on/2 days off Roster including some weekend work.
