**About the role**

The role will support high quality planning outcomes across Development Victoria's current portfolio of urban renewal projects as well as prospective new projects, through the provision of statutory, strategic and development planning input, advice and review.

Reporting directly to our Senior Planning Manager you will provide support to project teams, participate in engaging consultants, be responsible for developing and embedding key enabling processes, internal & external stakeholder engagement

**Your key accountabilities will include;**
- Provide planning input and advice in relation to due diligence undertaken for potential new projects,
- Provide strategic and statutory planning advice to support the Civic Projects, Precincts and Property groups.
- Provide detailed statutory planning assessments on proposals and DV projects.
- Prepare or assist with the preparation of EOI and Request for Proposal documentation and in bid assessment activities.
- Provide advice on planning consultant selection, prepare consultant briefs and manage consultant services as required.
- Assist with the preparation of planning conditions on planning permits as required.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical reports and Board Papers as required.
- Provide planning advice to management as required.
- Prepare and deliver planning presentations to internal and external parties as required.
- Participate in discussion and forums to facilitate best planning and placemaking practice.
- Liaise with Councils, State Government, agencies, consultants and private industry to facilitate planning excellence in projects.
- Effectively communicate planning issues and proposals in written and graphic form and present these outputs to others.

Desired skills and experience includes:

- Sound knowledge and/or experience of working within the Victorian Planning system.
- Demonstrated experience in planning due diligence activities.
- Ability to understand and unpack planning controls and strategic plans, including planning scheme amendments.
- Experience working in the public or private sector providing expert advice, evaluation and assessments on planning and urban design issues.
- Experience working in a complex multidisciplinary team to deliver large urban scale development projects.
- Demonstrates strong levels of accountability, initiative, creativity and innovation.
- Works effectively and positively as part of a team and builds strong relationships with all stakeholders.
