Our team is growing and we are looking for an experienced EHS SMS Specialist to join our team of dedicated EHS professional base at our Brisbane or Newcastle sites.

As the EHS Specialist - SMS Project reporting to the EHS Manager, Systems and Assurance, you will be the primary conduit between EHS and BDA Product & Services Safety Management System to ensure EHS requirements are considered and integrated where appropriate.

You will be responsible for communicating, negotiating and making decisions to ensure EHS management system considerations are fully considered including Implementation of organisational change. Preparing compliance and technical reports to meet Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulatory requirements. Conducting education and training to support regulatory and business requirements. You will also evaluate impacts of new regulations on company operations.

**You will need to have**:

- Tertiary qualification in Health, Safety and Environment or related field with at least 7 years of EHS experience in an operational environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of regulations and reporting requirements as well as ISO45001 and ISO14001.
- Aviation and/ or Defence industry knowledge.
- Execution, attention to detail, initiative, conflict resolution, customer focus, collaboration, building ownership and commitment, establishing direction, drive for change, getting organizational support, tenacity and skills in electronic systems.
- Demonstrated professional with passion for change and relentless focus on execution.
- Must be highly organized; able to prioritize and meet target dates in a very fast-paced environment.
