- **CAMHS Acute Response Team (Safeguards) are seeking applicants who are passionate about improving the mental health and social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their communities.**
- **You will be supported culturally and professionally by a non-Aboriginal Manger, clinicians, the Aboriginal Mental Health workforce, an Aboriginal Manager Located in Tamworth. The position is based Tamworth Mental Health Service - Dean House
**Employment Type**: Permanent Full Time (Part Time Applicants will be considered)
**Position Classification**: Counsellor Level 1/2 up to Level 3, Occupational Therapist Level 1/2 up to Level 3, Social Worker Level 1/2 up to Level 3, Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 and Clinical Psychologist.

**About the service**:
The new 'Safeguards Team' will be a CAMHS, extended hours, community based, assertive and flexible short-term multidisciplinary service delivering skilled evidence-based interventions to resolve mental health crisis with young people and their families. These interventions include risk management and stabilisation, safety planning and containment, brief intervention and multiagency/service linkage.

This position will primarily be located at Tamworth, you will be a part of the broader Safeguards Team based at Wallsend Newcastle - so you will connect via telehealth for ongoing clinical support. This position will be on a rotating roster which may include afternoon shifts and weekends.

**About the position**:
The primary purpose of this position will be to plan, coordinate, and provide evidence based, trauma informed and culturally and developmentally appropriate assessment and treatment to children and adolescents (0 to 17 years) in acute mental health distress, and their families.

The role sits within the Safeguards Child and Adolescent Mental Health Response Team ('Safeguards Team') and reports to the Safeguards Team Leader with professional responsibility to the appropriate HNELHD Mental Health - Head of Discipline.

In addition support for the new clinician will be provided from the Team Leader, CAMHS Transition Educator, Local CAMHS/AMH clinicians and the CAMHS Senior of the Discipline to support a new clinician in the role
