**Introduction**:
Safe Steps is the only 24/7, family violence response centre in Victoria, providing a "state-wide entry point" for victim-survivors of domestic and family violence. Services include information and referral, crisis response, specialist family violence risk assessment, safety planning, Webchat, and access to supported crisis accommodation.
Our vision is safety, support and respect for all victim-survivors of domestic and family violence.
Our practice is trauma-informed and guided by evidence. We provide services to all victim-survivors and recognise that most of our work is dedicated to the needs of women and children which reflects the gendered nature of domestic and family violence.
The Housing Pathways Coordinator will build strategic and operational relationships between Safe Steps and local housing and accommodation service providers (social and private) to ensure that victim survivors have access to and are supported with appropriate and sustainable accommodation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Service delivery
- Exercise autonomy in establishing operational procedures and work practices and contribute to the development of policy related to the housing pathways project in line with the long-term housing goals of the organisation

Develop and maintain strategic relationships between Safe Steps and local social & public housing providers to facilitate improved housing pathways for victim-survivors of family violence particularly those in marginalised cohorts e.g. disability, LGBTIQ+, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, culturally and linguistically diverse, nil income clients.
Develop relationships with local real estate agents to support victim-survivors into private rental housing and build opportunities to increase the availability of private rental options.
Document agreed pathways in accessible interface documents.
Maintain, and continue to develop, information regarding up-to-date information on safe and appropriate emergency accommodation options for victim-survivors in crisis.
- Provide expert advice on complex matters relating on housing options to a broad range of managers and frontline staff within the family violence stream to understand interface challenges to inform advocacy.

Develop the confidence of the Safe Steps family violence workforce to understand and navigate housing pathways and to advocate effectively for their clients.
Being an active representative in forums including the Local Area Service Networks (LASN) as well as interagency meetings as required.

Regularly attend and positively engage in professional supervision provided by Safe Steps
Regularly attend and positively contribute to team meetings and broader organisation meetings

Implement strategies to ensure a welcoming and safe environment for all clients and staff, including those from the LGBTIQ+ community, CALD, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and people with disabilities.
Engage in continuous quality improvement (CQI) to enhance service delivery and governance, ensuring inclusivity and equity.
Collaborate with services to provide comprehensive support for the LGBTIQ+, CALD, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Disabilities Communities. Complete mandatory and other training as required.

**Skills and Experiences**:
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA - Essential
Tertiary qualification relevant to the role.
Extensive experience within the specialist family violence and housing sector or working with those who have been impacted by domestic, family, and sexual violence (telephone counselling advantageous)
Understanding of the specialist family violence sector in Victoria and of state-based legislation as it pertains to family violence, privacy, and child protection legislation relevant to service delivery.
Understanding of the specialist and unique housing needs and challenges facing victim-survivors
Understanding of the unique housing needs and challenges for people living with a disability.
Understanding of feminist theory and contemporary family violence practice including the gendered nature of violence, social justice principles, crisis intervention and working with trauma
Demonstrated experience in leading practice within complex service delivery contexts, in particular multi-dis
