About the Role
- Using your lived/living experience of mental health issues, model recovery strategies to enable the assessment, intervention, and referral of consumers admitted to an acute adult inpatient ward.
- In conjunction with the multi-disciplinary clinical team co-ordinate, develop and implement rehabilitation goals for consumers.
- Provide consumers with education, information, referrals, and support from personal experience of recovery and of utilising mental health services and non-government agencies within an inpatient setting.
- Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to have a personal lived or living experience of mental health (and/or addiction) issues.
- It is highly desirable that applicants hold a Certificate IV in Mental Health, Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or Certificate IV in Community Settings or can demonstrate that they are working towards obtaining these qualifications.
