Location: Sunshine Hospital - Ward 2G Employment Type: Ongoing, Part Time Salary: YW11 About the role Ward 2G is a 28-bed medical ward at Sunshine Hospital, primarily admitting patients from the Emergency Department.
The ward is supported by a dedicated medical team, Allied Health clinicians, and skilled nursing staff.
Together, we provide high-quality, patient-centred care, focusing on positive health outcomes and timely discharges to support patient flow across the organisation.
The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) plays a key leadership role within the ward, combining expert clinical practice with operational management responsibilities.
As an integral member of the management team, the ANUM supports the Nurse Unit Manager to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care, while fostering a positive and supportive team environment.
Key responsibilities: Maintain clinical knowledge and practice within scope, in alignment with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) standards.
Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care, acting as a role model for clinical excellence.
Support the Nurse Unit Manager with the management of nursing resources, operational needs, and ward administration.
Foster strong professional relationships within the multidisciplinary team to achieve the best patient outcomes.
Promote a positive work culture that supports staff wellbeing, professional development, and job satisfaction.
Assume the responsibilities of the Nurse Unit Manager in their absence.
Contribute to leadership, research, education, and continuous improvement as outlined in the Western Health Nursing and Midwifery Professional Practice Framework.
