Job Description:
The Department of Psychological Medicine at the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network is seeking permanent Staff Specialists to join their team. This role requires providing Child and Adolescent Psychiatry specialist services to the Department of Psychological Medicine across SCHN with a primary location at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick (SCH) or The Children's Hospital at Westmead (CHW).
This position involves ensuring that clinical services are focused on delivering excellent care to children and supporting their families. It also entails research and teaching in the area of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing direct patient care
Supervising the care provided by junior medical staff
Providing child psychiatric consultation to non-medical team members
The successful candidate will be required to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team. They must demonstrate effective clinical communication and interpersonal skills.
Additionally, they should have experience with a wide range of treatment methods, including psychotherapeutic approaches and the use of psychotropic medications. Adaptability to the needs of the child and their family is essential.
