**About the facility**
- Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong's CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.
- The Pharmacy Department is staffed by 120 EFT staff across the acute site (University Hospital Geelong), the rehabilitation and aged care site (McKellar Centre) and the private hospital (St John of God). The Department provides clinical pharmacy services, aseptic and oncology preparation, HITH and outpatient services. A high degree of specialisation exists in clinical pharmacy roles, clinical trials, medication safety, medicines information, antimicrobial stewardship and radiopharmacy.

**About the role**
- This is a permanent full time position for a pharmacy technician in The Allerton Family Oncology Pharmacy. You will assist the staff in The Allerton Family Oncology Pharmacy in providing an excellent cancer treatment service to our community.
- Some of your responsibilities would include:

- Accurate processing of prescriptions including troubleshooting issues surrounding these
- Performing end of day procedures for closing outpatient point of sale - inclusive of reconciling against hospital financial management system and troubleshooting discrepancies
- Assisting with preparing and printing treatment lists
- Printing and organising treatment charts and manufacturing worksheets
- Filing
- PBS claim sorting and reconciliation
- Taking receipt of deliveries, ensuring adherence to cold chain management and handling of restricted and scheduled medicines
- Contribution to expiry management processes across the site
- Assist in the dispensing of medications

**About you**
- Essential;
- Completion of Certificate III in Hospital Health Services & Pharmacy Support or willingness to complete within an agreed time frame
- Hospital or Community pharmacy dispensary experience
- Stronge PBS Knowledge
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders who have diverse interests, values and beliefs
- Ability to work effectively independently, or as part of a team
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Desirable;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
