Guided by our Leadership Team, led by the Head of Teaching and Learning and the Head of Health and Wellbeing, you will receive dedicated support and guidance in your role as a Learning Specialist, ensuring your success in both the classroom and your leadership responsibilities.

As a Learning Specialist at Karwan Primary School, you will play a pivotal role in our educational community. Your responsibilities will include actively engaging with students in the classroom for three and a half days, fostering their learning and growth, working within a Professional Learning Team (PLT), and working closely with families. Additionally, you will dedicate one and a half days to non-classroom activities, providing you with the opportunity to take charge of a whole school portfolio. These non-classroom days present a unique opportunity for you to contribute to the professional development of our teaching staff and make a broader impact on the school community as a whole. Your expertise and leadership in these areas will be instrumental in shaping our educational programs and ensuring the success of both students and fellow educators.

As middle leaders, Learning Specialists act as a crucial link between the strategic vision of the school and the practical implementation in classrooms. At Karwan Primary School, we strongly encourage and model work/life balance. School starts at 8:40am and concludes at 2:50pm. This means that on a meeting night, staff are leaving at 4:10pm or on a non-meeting night, 3:10pm. We work hard while we are here, but once we leave at the end of the day, we can focus on other important things, like self, and family.
