With a strong reputation for outstanding course conditioning and a challenging layout, this is a chance to play a key role in the continued excellence of one of the region's top clubs.About the RoleAs Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, you will be a vital part of the club's leadership team.
Working closely with the Course Superintendent, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the course's presentation and playability to the highest standards.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about turf management, possess strong operational and leadership skills, and have a hands-on, proactive approach to team development and daily operations.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in scheduling, supervising, and leading daily maintenance operations and project workWhere required, be available to work outside of delegated hours to ensure outcomes are achievedManage Poa/ Bent grass greens with a focus on moisture control and disease managementTrain and induct staff at all levelsAssist in agronomic planning, irrigation scheduling/ maintenance, and product applicationsLead and participate in construction and renovation projectsPerform maintenance of all turf areas including greens, tees, surrounds, fairways, roughs, and bunkersApply pesticides and fertilisers safely and effectivelyContribute to irrigation management and course set-upFollow and enforce safe workplace and environmental practicesManage and operate weekend rostering and staffingIdeal Candidate Will HaveCertificate III in Sports Turf Management (essential); Certificate IV or Diploma (highly regarded/ preferred)Experience in a similar role within the golf course industryProven team leadership and excellent communication skillsStrong knowledge of Poa/ Bent grass management in Sydney's climateExpertise in turfgrass agronomy, disease management, and irrigationCompetence with turf machinery, drainage systems, and renovation practicesExperience with chemical and fertiliser applicationsA strong work ethic and physical fitness for manual tasksWhy Join Us?
