We are currently hiring enthusiastic Qualified Clinical Coders to join our esteemed team at Ramsay hospitals across Victoria on a casual basis.

**The Opportunity**

As a member of our team, you will report directly to the VIC Regional Health Information Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure accurate and timely coding of diagnoses and procedures in accordance with current Australian Coding Standards.

Each hospital within the Ramsay network offers a diverse range of specialties, providing you with a challenging and dynamic work environment. You will play a pivotal role in collecting, collating, and managing data in compliance with hospital policies and relevant legislative requirements.

The data you handle is highly confidential and serves various purposes, including billing, morbidity collections, research, statistical analysis, management information systems, and casemix management, including Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG) allocations.

**About You**

To thrive in this role, you must demonstrate effective teamwork and the ability to work independently when necessary. Your knack for fostering positive relationships and maintaining strong communication networks with stakeholders and departments is essential for achieving quality outcomes.

**Essential Skills and Experience**:

- Completion of the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) Clinical Coding Course, Associate Diploma, Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Record Administration, Health Information Management, or a similar relevant tertiary qualification.
- Eligibility for membership with HIMAA.
- A minimum of 3 years coding experience in a tertiary hospital, some of which must be with ICD-10-AM 12th edition
- Demonstrated ability to code independently with mínimal supervision.
- A genuine interest in clinical coding, coupled with highly developed self-management skills and a positive "can-do" attitude.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in working within both team environments and independently.
- Strong computer literacy skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.

**Desirable**
- Experience with patient administration software relevant to hospitals (e.g., Meditech).
- Experience with 3M Code Finder software
- Previous experience in a private hospital setting.

**Requirements**:

- _Must provide a _**National Police** check conducted within the previous 12 months
