**About the Role**
This role manages the delivery phase of road and transport projects within Council's capital works program through implementation of recognised project management principles. This includes procurement, communicating with key stakeholders, construction surveillance and the monitoring and reporting of project progress to ensure they are tracking appropriately. The role leads a team and is responsible for programming and monitoring workload of team members and also provides specialist engineering design & construction advice to colleagues, management, consultants and contractors.
**What you will be doing**:
- Oversee procurement processes to ensure compliance with purchasing legislation and policy
- Assemble tender and quotation packages for projects and panels, chairing tender panels for the evaluation of submissions, report outcomes to Senior Management including recommendations to award contracts
- Administer contracts, act as Superintendent/Superintendent's Representative and control all incoming and outgoing project documentation
- Liaise with Asset Planning staff regarding the planning and design of projects to ensure project objectives are achieved
- Identify opportunities and implement ideas to improve business & service delivery processes.
- Maintain team engagement and facilitate a culture that reflects the corporate values including mentoring & coaching of team members.
- Plan, monitor and manage the team to achieve performance targets and business plan initiatives.
- Provide high level specialised engineering advice to Council and/or Senior Management.
**About you**:
To be successful in this role you will have:
1. Degree/Post Graduate qualifications in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of post qualification experience in delivering complex projects, engineering works and managing contractors
2. White Card - General Construction Induction
3. Drivers Licence (Class C) - NSW
4. Extensive experience in project management, including project budgeting & finance, development of tender documents & contract specifications, procurement and contract management
5. Expert knowledge of engineering design & construction standards and codes of practice, contract law and associated legislation
**Position details and Remuneration**:
Permanent full-time role, CN0038 Salary: Up to $166,325K per annum including Superannuation + Car Allowance.
