We focus on user outcomes while exploring the latest technology.NEP Australia is seeking a Broadcast Software Engineer to work with APIs for broadcast hardware and software, providing tools and workflows that simplify complex broadcast operations.This role is based at our Southbank, Melbourne hub and involves weekend work aligned with sports broadcasts across Australia.
The position The ideal candidate is a software engineer with media experience or a broadcast engineer with a focus on modern software development.
You should understand the challenges of large-scale live events.
You will collaborate with commissioning, support teams, product managers, and users, and may assist with high-profile productions.
Key Responsibilities: Develop secure, production-ready software for critical services using Golang, React, and PHPCreate tests for new and existing code and contribute to CI workflowsWork with the team to improve existing codeReview pull requests and pair programming when appropriateDesign and implement new featuresTroubleshoot and optimize code for bugs and performance issuesIdentify and report quality or security issuesProvide documentation for users and commissioning teamsContribute feedback and collaborate with team membersEngage in continuous learning to stay current with best practices and new technologiesCoordinate with other engineering teams to ensure product quality Required skills and attributes: Several years of software development experienceAbility to quickly learn new codebases and frameworksBroad knowledge of programming languagesExperience with database design and data modelingKnowledge of Kubernetes and containerizationDeep understanding of the software development process and related technologiesNEP values our people's efforts and offers benefits such as:Salary continuance insuranceNEP Days - 5 additional leave days per year (conditions apply)Travel benefits and discounts, including Qantas Club MembershipDiscounts via the Employment Hero appEmployee Assistance ProgramThis is a full-time role offering a unique opportunity for the right candidate.
