Head Of Financial Planning

**The Opportunity**:
A senior role in the Financial Management (FM) team with significant influence and impact.

The Head of FP&A (global) will work with, and support, the FM function to implement firm and function strategy via the development of high quality financial reporting, modelling, insight and analysis to support decision making.

Responsible for leading the global Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, the role will focus on major deliverables including:

- Taking responsibility for the evolution of firm's financial reporting framework and processes
- Proactively supporting the firm's data strategy vision and delivery
- Leading and providing finance expertise for finance and non-finance related projects
- Ensuring the continuous improvement of financial reporting (including self-service), adding value to the firm

Based in Australia, the Head of FP&A (Global) will assume responsibility for the management and development of a global team of 10 (based in Sydney, London and Glasgow), working towards clearly defined team and individual goals with full adoption of the Ashurst Mindful Business Charter

As a senior member of the Asia Pacific FM function, the role will also involve business partnering with legal and business services teams as well as providing leadership and guidance to the wider FM team in the region.

The role reports to the Director of Finance Strategy & Analytics.

**About You**:

- Significant experience of leading a financial planning and analysis function
- Managerial experience within professional services, ideally within the legal profession
- Professional business finance qualification
- Proven experience and success managing projects and being part of project teams
- Ability to demonstrate and communicate a clear, comprehensive understanding of the professional services business model
- Strong understanding of financial and management information systems
- Experience of Cognos products (including TM1), Microsoft Power BI, enterprise-wide system solutions and data warehouse modelling is desirable
- Advanced analytical skills, highly numerate with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent delivery skills, ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the business
