The Opportunity
We are recruiting for a motivated individual who will be integral to the engagement and ongoing assurance activities across Boeing Defence Australia's Suppliers.
Reporting directly to the Quality Senior Manager, this new position will be an integral part of the Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) Quality Leadership Team. The successful applicant will lead a small team working across all BDA programs, including the cutting edge MQ-28 Ghost Bat, across geographically dispersed locations locally and interstate ensuring only the highest quality components are being installed to our products and helping drive continual improvement in collaboration with our Suppliers.
Responsibilites
- Build an effective Supplier Quality team, supporting the growth and development of their skills and capabilities, being responsible for managing their personal development and performance.
- Consults with enterprise, industry, customers or regulatory agencies to establish requirements for the performance of supplier audits and assessments.
- Lead audits/assessments of supplier's systems, processes and products. Documenting and reporting on audit/assessment results.
- Participates with industry partners, customers and to develop and implement product acceptance standards and conduct source inspections of parts and materials.
- Interprets future business needs to identify areas of development for improving the performance and productivity of the supplier base.
- Foster relationships and a positive culture within the Quality Team, key business stakeholders and partners including Supply Chain Management.
- Working with business partners to monitor and report on the compliance and adequacy of the Supplier QMS's against contractual requirements and standards.
- Partner with counterparts in BAA, BGS and BDS to ensure an effective and streamlined Supplier assurance program.
**Skills & experience**:
- Previous experience in a Supplier Quality role.
- A proven ability to collaborate with external organisations to conduct non-conformance reporting.
- Tertiary level education in either business or aviation or a commensurate level of professional knowledge and experience.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and influence people, including Senior and Executive level stakeholders both in-person and virtually.
- Professional oral and written communication skills with an ability to effectively prioritise and time manage to meet deadlines
**Desirable (but not essential)**:
- An understanding of Defence and/or Civil aviation regulations (CASA/DASA/EASA), particularly with respect to Supplier requirements.
- An understanding of Australian Industry Capability (AIC) Program in Defence Industry.
- An understanding of aviation or commercial production environments and suppliers.
