SLR has a great opportunity in Perth for an ambitious Hygiene Technician to join our Occupational Hygiene and Hazardous Materials (OHHM) team.
This full-time role involves working with a local team and collaborating across Australia.
We seek individuals with a couple of years of experience eager to learn and grow.
Responsibilities
Occupational exposure monitoring for hazards like dust, diesel fumes, welding fumes, noise, asbestos, and chemicals.
Develop sampling plans.
Perform respirator and hearing protection fit testing.
Review sample data and input into databases.
Conduct field observations.
Provide data for reports and proposals.
Contribute to projects.
Regional travel may be required.
Skills and Experience
Ability to travel regularly and adapt work arrangements.
Experience in resource or heavy industry, or related studies.
Valid driver's license (manual license advantageous).
Excellent communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Ability to work independently and under supervision.
Australian citizenship or rights to work in Australia.
Interest in OHHM with a drive for ongoing learning; training provided.
Desirable Qualifications/Experience
Ability to communicate technical info to diverse audiences.
Experience in report writing and data analysis.
Experience on mine sites.
Mine Air Quality Officer/Technician training.
Noise officer/dosimetry training.
Qualifications in Occupational Hygiene, Chemistry, OHS, Science, Nursing/Medical, or Environmental disciplines.
