Prepare and assemble sandwiches, wraps, salads and other grab-and-go items to a high standard of quality, presentation and hygieneEnsure the freshness of ingredients and follow portion control and food safety guidelinesMaintain consistent cleanliness and hygiene across all food preparation and kitchen areasPerform temperature checks and manage cross-contamination in line with WHS and Food Safety standardsSupport chefs with basic food prep tasks such as chopping, portioning ingredients, and preparing items ahead of serviceAssist with general kitchen operations including dishwashing, sanitising equipment and cleaning workstationsTake ownership of cleaning duties including floors, dishes, equipment and waste management, using commercial dishwashers and cleaning chemicals safelyHandle stock rotation, unpack deliveries and keep kitchen supplies well maintainedWork collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service during peak periodsMore About YouPrevious experience in a sandwich hand or kitchenhand role is preferredFood Safety CertificatePassion and enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced environmentFlexible availability across a 7-day roster, with the majority of shifts starting early in the morningThe application period will close on 10/09/2025, unless sufficient qualified candidates are identified sooner.Who We AreMelbourne Airport serves as a primary transportation hub in Australia, facilitating travel for millions of passengers each year.
