Programmed Training Services have opportunities available for keen and reliable people looking for a career pathway as a fully qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Apprenticeship.

As a qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to work with your hands on some heavy vehicles in one of Australia's largest transport companies, Transit Systems.

Working across different sites you will gain hands on experience servicing everything from batteries, transmissions, engine and drive assemblies to hydraulic, steering and braking systems in the industry whilst you receive dedicated support from Programmed and your Transit Systems mentor in all aspects of your training and employment.

We have positions available for enthusiastic people looking to start or continue their Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Apprenticeship in Leichhardt, Smithfield, Kingsgrove and Burwood.

**About your new role**:

- Follow principles of occupational health and safety in the work environment
- Repair transmissions in manual and automatic transport fleets
- Remove and install heavy vehicle engine assemblies in the workshop
- Test, charge and replace batteries and other electrical components
- Diagnose and repair heavy vehicle emission control systems
- Detect mechanical and electrical faults in mobile cranes for further investigation and repair
- Carrying out road worthy assessments for the registration of vehicles and management of fleet records
