Overview
Kinetic IT is seeking a skilled and versatile Senior Cloud Engineer to join our high-performing team supporting a Federal Government customer based in Canberra. You will play a key role in managing and integrating hybrid infrastructure environments – spanning on-premises systems, AVS (Azure VMware Solution), and Azure native services. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a major transformation journey, supporting cloud adoption and modern workplace environments (including Exchange Online and Microsoft 365). This role offers the chance to make a tangible impact within a federal government environment, while developing your cloud and modern workplace skills alongside a team of experienced professionals at Kinetic IT.
Responsibilities
Provide expert Level 3 support across Windows Server and cloud platforms.
Administer and maintain hybrid infrastructure: on-prem, AVS, and Azure-native.
Integrate services with third-party providers including WAN and secure internet gateways (e.g. Verizon).
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders across SIAM-aligned processes (incident, change, and problem management).
Partner with the service desk and desktop teams to support a modern M365 environment.
Support infrastructure transformation aligned with the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework and hub-and-spoke topologies.
Contribute to application services management and virtual server optimisation.
What you'll bring to the table
Extensive experience with Windows Server 2016–2022
Strong hands-on expertise in the Azure Cloud Platform
Proficiency with VMware environments
Knowledge of Azure VMware Solution (AVS)
Azure networking and hub-and-spoke topology
Virtual server management and application services
Familiarity with the Cloud Adoption Framework
Experience with Microsoft Intune, SharePoint Online, Power Platform, and Power Automate
Certifications: MS900, MS102, AZ900, AZ104
