Babysitter / Nanny

**Job Description**:
**Our Family**:

- We are looking for a regular babysitter to become an extension of our family. Not only to babysit during the week but potentially come on holidays with us when it suits. A bit about us... we have two year old girl and a four month old boy. Both of our children have been babysit regularly to date and are both in a schedule. Our two year old currently has one nap during the day for 1-2 hours and is on a 7pm to 7am schedule. Our boy, although only young, is on a 7am to 7pm schedule as well and currently has a morning, mid-day and quick afternoon nap. Our daughter is toilet-trained (although needs help with getting on/off the toilet and wiping), she is a good eater and has excellent communication skills. Our son is in nappies and is exclusively breastfed; depending on when we go out, he will already be fed or need to be given a bottle (which he happily takes). Our daughter loves pretend play in her playroom, reading books, playing with play dough, doing crafts, going to the park / zoo, playing outside in her outdoor kitchen, singing / dancing. Our son, although very young at the moment loves mat time and listening to us read - he is a very smiley baby. Our kids are easy-going. Whilst our daughter has her moments (what 2 year old doesn't) - she can communicate well, knows what she does/doesn't want to do and can take instruction. Depending on when we go out, we may have a meal with you beforehand and thus again, looking for someone who we get along with and enjoy your company. We like to book up to a month in advance our babysitting, so you can know when we need you. Depending on, if it suits and you're that way inclined, we have room for you to sleepover... especially if you're babysitting when a night and morning is back-to-back (however, this is not essential). Some times, we might not be going out but just need an extra set of hands or a few hours to relax as a couple / do jobs etc. I am very organised and as a result, nearly all meals (if we're not going to be home) will be prepared, bed clothes / nappies etc will be left out, bottles ready to go etc. Unfortunately for us, our regular babysitters are in their last year of study and will move to full-time work next year which means their availability is dramatically reduced. We're keen to find someone who can start ASAP so we can get to know you and have a transition period before they finish up towards the end of the year. We also have very limited family support living in Perth, as a result, we use babysitters quite a lot. We're really looking forward to welcoming someone in to our home is like-minded when it comes to raising children and being part of our family.

**Your Duties**:

- Play with and engage with my children This is really important to us. We don't need you to cook, clean etc, although, there may be the rarest of times when I ask you to put a load of washing in the dryer or get something off the clothesline, but honestly, this has only happened a couple of times. You need to clean up after yourself / the kids, as I don't expect to have to do this when I get home. We ask that you follow our kid's schedules and I may ask for updates / tracking. If you babysit during the day, it will be playing or taking them out (if it suits). If you babysit towards the end of the day you will need to feed, bathe and put the kids to bed. Once the kids are both down and everything is tidied up, we're happy for you to sit back and relax.

**Our Perfect Caregiver**:

- We're looking for a female babysitter who has ideally 2+ years experience babysitting / nannying. Maybe you already have kids of your own who are in school etc and are looking for some extra work / something of interest. We would like someone who wants to do this long-term and ideally we're the only family you work for as to be flexible and available to our needs. You need to be able to follow our children's schedules and instructions. I don't need you to do any housework or cleaning - we are really looking for someone to engage with our kids and play with them / take them out (when it suits). If you are inspired and want to cook a meal for us while the kids are asleep, you're welcome to and it will certainly be appreciated, but this isn't a requirement of your role. You need to be able to multi-task / have experience with looking after multiple children at one time. You need to be flexible to be able to babysit one night during the week, one morning or afternoon on the weekend and potentially a weekend night (not always). There will be the occasional hours required during the week to look after one or both children when I need to attend appointments and my husband can't assist. You will have a WA Drivers Licence, however, you don't need to have car seats in your vehicle - in the event you take our kids out, we will leave you with our car and either swap vehicles with you or Uber. Must be a non-smoker.
