Senior Energy Lawyer Role
Elevate partners with a leading utility firm to onboard a Senior Energy Lawyer for a 12-month contract.
This role offers flexibility, allowing the right candidate to work full-time or part-time (minimum 4 days per week) in Sydney.
Key Responsibilities:
Advise on large-scale energy developments throughout their project lifecycle.
Draft and negotiate key project documents, including connection agreements, power purchase agreements, offtake, and procurement contracts.
Manage external legal counsel and deliver training to internal teams.
Provide proactive, strategic legal advice to mitigate risks and drive commercial outcomes.
Partner with internal stakeholders across engineering, construction, procurement, and regulatory functions.
About You:
A lawyer with 7+ years' experience in energy, projects, or construction (top-tier firm or in-house).
Demonstrated expertise in energy and projects development.
Extensive experience negotiating and drafting energy contracts (power purchase agreements, offtake, supply, procurement).
Strong commercial acumen with a stakeholder-focused approach.
An understanding of EPC/EPCM front-end contracting is a plus but not mandatory.
Confidence working autonomously and collaboratively in fast-moving environments.
