Newmont APAC Operations are located in Western Australia, the Northern Territory, New South Wales and Papua New Guinea, with roles in operations, projects, corporate support and exploration. Where you'll be working
This is a full-time permanent position and will be offered on a flexible hybrid work arrangement, ideally based out of Newmont's Subiaco office hub in Perth, Western Australia. It will be essential to have full and unrestricted eligibility for employment in Australia.
Who we're looking for
Reporting to the Lead, Land, the Advisor, Land willmaintain accurate records of all land assets, track and manage statutory and contractual tenement and other land obligations, and ensure timely satisfaction of these requirements as well as the acquisition of new land assets and the divestiture of existing ones, ensuring all transactions are conducted efficiently and in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
**Key responsibilities include**:

- Track, manage, and ensure the timely satisfaction of the statutory, regulatory, and contractual land tenure obligations necessary to maintain the validity of the Company's land assets.
- Manage and administer access to mining tenure through the securing and maintaining of relevant access permissions, permits, and agreements.
- Support land-related transactions by ensuring payments, conducting due diligence, and assisting in negotiations with various stakeholders, including private individuals, companies, Indigenous groups, land councils, and governmental authorities. Collaborate with team members across Business Units on the access, management, acquisition, or divestment of surface and mineral land rights.
- Assist in the review and preparation of land or land-related agreements such as joint venture agreements, leases, options, access, and royalty arrangements, ensuring alignment with the Company's strategic objectives and values.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of data and records for the Company's surface and mineral land assets through regular review of data in Landfolio.
- Draft, or provide input on, land-related Authorizations for Expenditure ("AFE"), under the direction of the BU Lead, Land.
- Undertake tenure and land management and administration related tasks as assigned by the Lead Land from time to time and commensurate with the individual's skills and experience.

**Experience, Skills& Qualification**:

- Knowledge of the management of mining tenure in the Northern Territory and at least one of the following jurisdictions: Western Australia, New South Wales, Papua New Guinea.
- Knowledge of the review and administration of land-related instruments and agreements, negotiation of land-related agreements, and the use of land management databases.
- Familiarity with GIS data and ArcGIS software desirable.
- Competent proficiency in land title compliance, tenement acquisition/access, and divestment in accordance with relevant laws and regulations governing real property, mining tenure, Indigenous lands, and land administration.
- Experience in reviewing and analyzing land title instruments.
- Proficiency with land management databases and other relevant business systems.
- Competent proficiency in managing mining tenure compliance in multiple Australian jurisdictions.
