Responsibilities
As the Haematology Trials Fellow, you will develop expertise in the diagnosis and management of haematological disorders, with exposure to clinical research and clinical trials.
Collaborate with patients, scientific staff, and other health professionals from public and private health services to achieve high quality service provision to patients.
Understand, review, and implement treatment protocols, quality monitoring requirements including clinical audit and critical reviews.
Provide routine and urgent medical assessment and clinical care to Haematology patients being screened and participating in clinical trials as a certified investigator within the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District.
Where appropriate, undertake screening and provision of care to clinical trials patients in Wollongong Private Hospital.
Support ISLHD's vision and values, including commitment to equity, health, improvement, timeliness and efficiency, and evidence-based service delivery.
Qualifications
MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category and completed training with FRACP/FRCPA or FRACP only or international equivalent for Haematology.
Demystrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team in planning, delivery and coordination of patient care.
High level communication skills, with the ability to convey information to clinical and non-clinical audiences.
Good organisational and time management skills with ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
High level independent clinical skills and judgement, with sound decision-making and problem solving, and willingness to learn independently.
Previous experience in and willingness to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and training.
Applicable vaccination requirements for a Category A role; Working With Children Check (WWCC); Current AHPRA Registration; Valid NSW Driver's Licence.
