Are you passionate about automobiles and have a knack for dismantling vehicles? We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Car Wrecking Yard Dismantler to join our team. As a dismantler, you will play a crucial role in salvaging useful parts and components from end-of-life vehicles in our wrecking yard.
**Responsibilities**:
- Efficiently and safely dismantle a variety of vehicles, including cars, and SUVs, using hand and power tools.
- Identify and remove valuable and usable parts, such as engines, transmissions, electronics, and body components.
- Inspect parts for quality, functionality, and potential reusability.
- Properly document and organise salvaged parts for inventory management.
- Follow established safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Dispose of hazardous materials and fluids according to environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with other team members to optimise workflow and maintain productivity.
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience as a car dismantler or in a similar role is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment for dismantling.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and targets.
- Excellent attention to detail to identify valuable parts and assess their condition.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy vehicle parts and work in all weather conditions.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.
- Basic computer skills for inventory management and documentation.
- Pre-employment checks including medical, drug and alcohol testing and police checks are a condition of employment.
