**How will I help?**

The STAQ (Systematic Trading Analytics and Quant) team at Westpac are responsible for a number of crucial initiatives in the fast-moving financial markets space, including systematic trading / alpha models, client franchise pricing models, quantitative research/development, and sales and trading analytics. The stakeholders for STAQ initiatives include the broader FICC sales and trading business (FX/rates/credit) as well as external and internal counterparties.

You will:

- Develop analytics, tools and models for the growing electronic trading business in Westpac Financial Markets
- Support the electronic FX, fixed income and credit desks with tools for pricing, hedging, and flow analysis
- Work directly with FICC stakeholders to build innovative pricing, flow and risk models for the FX and rates businesses
- Work with technology to define and deliver uplifts and improvements to the algorithmic trading platform
- Assist in the development of systematic, automated pricing and trading algorithms across multiple asset classes

**What do I need?**

Further required skills:

- Python Experience is essential, and KDB/q expertise or other relevant time series database
- Post graduate qualification (Masters/PhD) in a relevant quantitative discipline
- Knowledge of other high-level programming languages such as Java is desirable, not essential.
- Knowledge of Data Visulation tools and frameworks e.g matplotlib, Qlikview or similar
- A passion for trading, technology and financial markets
