Chandler Macleod is currently recruiting for a
**Museum Educator** to join a leading Federal Government agency. You will be employed on a casual basis for a minimum of three hours, generally between 9:00am and 3:00pm on weekdays during school terms with occasional evening/weekend work is available. It is based in
**Sydney NSW**.

**Role description**:
As a Museum Educator your role is central to achieving this goal by engaging learners both onsite at the museum and through digital experiences. This will include facilitating and guiding student groups on our site, delivery of virtual excursions and assisting with education events.

**Responsibilities may include but are not limited to**:

- Deliver onsite primary and high school education programs. This includes guided tours and workshops on vessels, around the wharf precinct, in museum galleries and learning centre.
- Delivery of online virtual excursions.
- Providing an Acknowledgement of Country and site induction for programs.
- Set-up / pack-down of tour and workshop materials.
- Complete associated administrative duties.
- Use technology to engage learners of all ages.
- Characterisation and willingness to wear appropriate costumes.
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Work in confined spaces. This may involve kneeling, squatting, crawling, bending, twisting and climbing up and down stairs and/or companionways on vessels.
- Deliver education programs outdoors where there is exposure to sun, rain, wind and other environmental conditions.
- Work as part of a team and independently, often with limited supervision.
- Provide support and/or training to peers and team members.
- Be punctual, reliable and flexible. Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment.
- Light lifting, stacking, reaching using step ladders and carrying up to 9 kgs.
- Abide by the dress code, Customer Service guidelines and APS code of conduct.

**To be successful in this position, you will need to have experience in the following**:

- Excellent oral communication skills.
- Experience delivering educational workshops and tours to primary and high school students.
- Ability to work as part of a team to meet day-to-day targets, as well as broader organisational goals and priorities.
- Demonstrated professional experience and enthusiasm for delivering educational programs to students of all ages.
- Capacity to think on your feet and be responsive to the needs of students and teachers.
- Advanced IT skills with experience in delivering virtual talks or experiences.
- Current paid Working with Children Check.
