**Fur Life Vet Smythesdale (formerly Smythesdale Animal Hospital), is seeking a receptionist to join their team.**

We offer an interesting role as well as a dynamic and supportive team environment.

We are a busy 1 - 2 vet clinic with a varied patient base of small companion animals, the odd hobby farm pet and wildlife.

**About the role**:

- Delivering dedicated client care to all patients and owners.
- Handling client enquiries in person and over the phone, including triaging phone calls
- Scheduling appointments, managing client accounts, admitting, and discharging patients.
- Processing payments, cash and eftpos handling, end of day settlements & banking
- Administrative tasks and support for veterinary crew and clinic co Ordinator
- Good organizational, communication and customer service skills.
- Flexible and adaptable within a team environment.
- General cleaning duties to help make the clinic sparkle

**Hours**:

- Full time working Monday to Friday 38 hours.
- No weekends or after-hours work required.

**About You**:

- You will be the first and last person to meet and speak to clients at our hospital, so it is essential that you make them feel comfortable and deal with them in an efficient, professional, and compassionate manner.
- You will need to be self-motivated and enthusiastic, an excellent communicator who understands that first impressions count.
- Most importantly, we seek a motivated team player who is interested in furthering their knowledge both as an individual and as part of a team.

**Essential attributes for the position**:

- Experience with Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word & Excel
- Able to prioritise, multi-task and be time efficient
- Being able to stay calm in a fast pace and sometimes stressful environment
- Having compassion and empathy for all patients and clients
- Physically able to handle lifting up 15kgs (either animals or large bags of food)
- A neat and tidy nature.
- Reliable
- Able to work in a team environment and take direction.
- Ability to keep calm under pressure.
- Amazing attention to detail
