University Hospital Geelong has a busy vibrant Women's Service with level 5 capability. The maternity service is supported by a level 5 special care nursery. The unit allows a breadth of experience caring for women who are low risk and high risk. This ensures experience in the care of women with significant comorbidities.

There is a team approach working collaboratively to ensure the best care for women.

Safety & Quality is a strong focus in Women's Services ensuring that we learn from adverse outcomes & continuously develop the service. Our focus is to provide the most up to date evidence based care.

Women's Services at University Hospital Geelong is committed to provide the best quality evidence based care for the women of Geelong. We are an expanding service that aims to deliver excellent clinical training to all of our team. Working in a multidisciplinary team we collaborate with highly skilled midwifery, nursing & allied health staff. We have regular obstetric & gynaecology case review meetings as well as perinatal M&M meetings. We provide in house multidisciplinary training including PROMPT & FSEP. Our aim is to ensure that all team members that work in our department are given opportunities to flourish. Each trainee will have training for their needs. In gynaecology we have access to early pregnancy service, general gynaecology, pelvic pain clinics, urogynaecology. In obstetrics there are pregnancy care clinics, fetal medicine, maternity assessment unit & intrapartum care. You will have access to ultrasound training, training in gynaecology & pregnancy care clinics, and training in intrapartum care.
