Cutting Edge Tree Services seeks a motivated and reliable person to join our skilled team and commence your horticulture career by undertaking a 2.5-year traineeship to become a Qualified Arborist.

An Arborist is a specialist trade. During your traineeship you will be equipped with all the skills needed to become a Qualified Arborist, including:

- Australian Standards pruning theory and techniques;
- Chainsaw use;
- Rigging techniques; and,
- Tree biology.

Our team is known in the industry for conducting tree work to the highest quality standards. We are an established business with residential and high profile commercial locations across Melbourne as clients. Our operations are run from our headquarters in Oakleigh (eastern suburbs).

We operate a safe work environment with well-maintained, and high quality equipment. You will be exposed to all facets of tree work and the trade of an Arborist through on the job training, and formal training provided by local Tafe RTO

At the completion of your traineeship you will be qualified in the care and management of trees in the urban environment with a Certificate III in Horticulture (Arboriculture).

During the traineeship your duties will require a degree of physical fitness, and an ability to work at height in a professional team environment. A trainee Arborist in our team also should also have a genuine passion for horticulture and plants, and the outdoors.

Skills/Qualifications Needed:

- Driver's Licence
- Have reliable transport
- Genuine passion for plants and horticulture in general
- Enjoy working outdoors
- Working With Children Check preferred
