Lead Engineering Excellence in a Growth CityPublic Sector People is partnering with Blacktown City Council to recruit an experienced and qualified Senior Coordinator Engineering Design to lead the delivery of high-quality stormwater and civil design services that enhance the liveability, safety, and sustainability of the growing city.
This role reports to the Manager Asset Design and leads the S7.11 Stormwater Design team in planning, design, and coordination of major infrastructure projects, with a focus on the North West Growth Area.Overview Location: Blacktown, NSWWork Type: Permanent, Full-TimeSalary: Band 3 Level 4 – TRP commensurate with experienceRecruiter: Public Sector People on behalf of Blacktown City CouncilKey Responsibilities Leading a high-performing engineering design team, ensuring all projects meet Council's quality, budget, and time requirementsOverseeing the preparation and authorisation of civil stormwater designs in line with professional standards and legislative obligationsManaging the S7.11 design program budget, including forecasting and reportingPreparing strategic plans, technical reports, and policy documents to guide infrastructure outcomesEngaging and collaborating with developers, consultants, community stakeholders, and internal teams to deliver integrated solutionsEssential Requirements Degree in Civil Engineering with Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and NER registrationMinimum 8 years' post-qualification experience in stormwater design and cost estimationHigh-level proficiency in AutoCAD, 12D, DRAINS, HEC-RAS, XP-RAFTS, TUFLOW, and MUSICDemonstrated leadership and stakeholder engagement skillsCurrent Class C driver's licenceAbout the Role and Benefits Blacktown City Council offers a supportive work environment, opportunities for professional development, and the chance to make a significant impact in one of Australia's most dynamic growth regions.
