Melbourne Pathology is one of Victoria's largest diagnostic pathology laboratories, committed to providing high quality healthcare throughout metropolitan Melbourne, regional Victoria and interstate.

A vacancy has become available for an evening laboratory assistant to join our Microbiology Department. Successful applicants will have a Diploma or Cert IV in Laboratory Technology. Relevant experience in a clinical diagnostic Microbiology laboratory is desirable.

Position requirements:

- Experience in a Microbiology laboratory (clinical) with Australian industry experience is desirable
- Duties include receipting samples, processing samples and Microscopy
- The ability to work as part of a busy team and work independently
- Participation in the educational and quality assurance activities of the department
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Understanding of and commitment to OH&S
- Knowledge of quality assurance systems and scientific instrumentation/equipment.

This is a part-time position with rostered shifts rotating between 12pm - 8pm, 2pm - 10pm and 4pm - midnight. It also requires participation in weekend and public holiday rosters.
- Confirmation of your current residency and right to work in Australia
- The notice period required to commence employment
- Evidence of full vaccination (2 doses plus booster) to COVID-19.
