Senior Software Engineering Manager - OEM Enablement
Job Summary:
Delivering high-quality OEM enablement projects requires an experienced software engineering manager to lead and manage a team of skilled professionals. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the Linux system, expertise in low-level debugging, strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and exceptional management abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruit, motivate, mentor, and empower team members to excel in delivering quality products
Collaborate with project managers, HWE, QA, and certification teams to ensure seamless project execution
Identify and prioritize tasks, track progress, and measure team performance indicators
Maximise individual contributions and support career growth through coaching and mentoring
Communicate effectively with OEMs, ODMs, SiPs, IHVs, and other stakeholders to resolve technical challenges
Coordinate globally distributed teams to achieve shared goals and objectives
Requirements:
A degree in computer science or software engineering, or related field, is essential
Proven track record in technical roles with Linux, preferably Ubuntu or Debian
Strong commitment to development and testing methodologies, as well as maintainable code quality
Experience in leadership positions, with a focus on team management and collaboration
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
Desirable Skills and Experience:
Technical decision-making for a team as a tech lead
Software architecture and design experience, with a focus on scalability and reliability
Proficiency in software development or operations with: Ubuntu kernel and userspace, deb/snap packaging, QEMU/KVM, LXC/LXD, containers, Python, Go, C, bash, Postgresql, Mongo, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Ceph, AI/ML
