Mid-Level Web Developer
to join our team on a freelance basis and help bring ideas to life across a range of client projects.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in collaborative, fast-moving environments, is passionate about clean, functional code, and has an eye for detail when it comes to design and user experience.
The Role & Working Environment
This is a
10-week freelance
engagement, averaging
25 hours per week
. It's
remote-first
and flexible, open to applicants
across Australia and New Zealand
. You'll work alongside a close-knit, growing team who pride themselves on clarity, craft, and making an impact.
What you'll do
Build and maintain responsive web applications using
React
and
Next.js
.
Deploy applications to modern cloud services such as
Vercel
.
Partner with designers to translate
Figma
prototypes into pixel-perfect builds.
Integrate and customise online CMS tools (bonus points if you've worked with
Contentful
).
Write clean, maintainable CSS and ensure consistency across breakpoints and devices.
Contribute ideas and solutions to improve performance, scalability, and usability.
What you'll bring
Hands-on experience with
React
and
Next.js
(this is your bread and butter).
A strong grasp of responsive design and attention to detail when it comes to front-end execution.
Proficiency in CSS (including
styled-components
); familiarity with
Tailwind CSS
is a plus.
Confidence working with Figma and collaborating with design teams.
An understanding of web optimisation best practices (bonus: some SEO know-how).
A collaborative mindset—you enjoy problem-solving alongside Developers, Designers, and PMs.
