Our horizontal organisational structure will allow you to benefit from frequent, close interaction with the firm's Partners, who are industry leaders within their field.About the roleWe're looking for aManagerto be part of our market-leading Melbourne team.You will play a key advisory role in our team and look after a broad range of corporate restructuring and insolvency engagements for a diverse spectrum of clients across different industries.
You will manage relationships and collaborate with external stakeholders (such as business owners, investors, lenders and solicitors) and lead on innovative and commercial solutions to help our clients navigate and recover from adverse circumstances.Key responsibilitiesManage your own portfolio of restructuring and insolvency matters, including managing all aspects of formal and informal insolvency engagements with support from other team members as appropriateManage the trading of various businesses, including preparation and oversight of cash flow forecasts, calculating employee entitlements and overseeing supplier / customer accountsLead complex investigations, including source and application of funds, forensic tracing exercises, voidable transactions and insolvent trading reviewsPrepare and review creditor reports, statutory reports and independent business reviews, and undertake and oversee detailed financial analysisParticipate in business development activities, including assisting Partners in preparing and pitching for new engagements, as well as being involved in presentations, marketing and eventsEncouraged to build your own internal and external networks, with support as requiredLead and / or assist in practice management such as internal training, recruitment and WIP / debtor managementProvide coaching, mentoring and training opportunities to develop the skills of other team membersSkills and experienceRequiredUniversity degree in a related discipline, such as Business / Commerce, Accounting or Finance and / or relevant professional or overseas qualification(s)Strong accounting background with extensive experience in corporate insolvency / restructuringExperience in the conduct of business and financial forecast reviews for financiers or other stakeholdersDemonstrated leadership skills, with experience providing coaching and training to other team membersStrong personal brand and level of engagement with professional networksExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with a willingness to learn and work as part of a collaborative teamStrong computer literacy, including use of Microsoft ExcelDesirableCA / CPA or other relevant professional accreditation(s)ARITA and / or TMA certification would be advantageousIf you're interested in this role but don't feel that you match every single one of our requirements, we would still love to hear from you and explore the unique skillset and attributes that you can bring to the team.Reach your remarkableAt Grant Thornton we do things differently because we understand that when you strive for better and care about what you do remarkable things are possible.
