12-month Full Time, Fixed Term position commencing 2 February 2026.
About The Role
The Royal Melbourne Hospital is seeking a Fellow with a specialty interest in Arthroplasty and Trauma to join the Orthopaedic Department. The applicant is expected to participate in all activities of the Orthopaedic Department and work closely with the Orthopaedic Pelvic and Acetabular Surgery Lead and Registrars. The applicant will also be expected to participate in teaching activities within the Department.
Unit Description
The Royal Melbourne Hospital is one of Victoria's largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community-based facilities. We are part of the Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, collaborating to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care. The hospital is one of two level-one trauma centres in Victoria and handles large volumes of pelvic and acetabular fractures.
Responsibilities
Join the Orthopaedic Department activities and work closely with the team
Contribute to teaching and training within the department
Collaborate with the Orthopaedic Pelvic and Acetabular Surgery Lead and Registrars
Engage in clinical care aligned with Arthroplasty and Trauma specialties
About You
Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) or eligible for registration via the Competent Authority Pathway (for international Medical Graduates)
MBBS or equivalent tertiary qualifications
Ability to work effectively in a team
Well-developed communication and presentation skills
