About The Facility
Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong's CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, Colac Area Health in Colac and residential aged care facilities spanning the region.
Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.
Barwon Medical Imaging (BMI) provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic services including X-Ray, OPG, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, Angiography, Mammography, and Nuclear Medicine.
These are performed by a team of highly skilled radiologists, radiographers, sonographers, nuclear medicine technologists, nurses and support staff who ensure that all patients have access to quality services
About The Role
The Sonographer supports the management of the medical imaging service 24/7 across all the department imaging sites.
Duties of the Sonographer include but are not limited to:
Independently operate all diagnostic imaging equipment including information systems (RIS/PACS/Firstnet,BOSS)
Participate in roster which includes being available for reasonable overtime and out of hours recall and shift duty.
Operate all ultrasound systems across Barwon Health.
Display leadership by example and experience
Assist with on-going practical supervision and training of students.
