Position Summary

As part of the Capella Sydney Security Team, you will be responsible for the safety and security of all hotel guests, employees and assets. The position requires mature and responsible people with the ability to work un-supervised and have outstanding customer service skills with thew ability to quickly and effectively problem solve. Whilst this is an autonomous position, this role will require the person to be a team player as part of the elite security team that is able to work cohesively with all Capella departments. Our Security team assists all departments where required to ensure seamless guest service in a secure environment.

A full-time position current exists for a professional and conscientious security guard with excellent communication skills to join our Security team. Applicants must be prepared to work evening shifts including weekends and public holidays and be available at peak trading times.

The Role

Monitors and control Visitors and Contractors permit and security check procedures, as well as, loss and prevention requirements of the hotel.
Report any issues or damages to the relevant department to ensure defect-free facilities and service amenities within the hotel.
Conducts security rounds and building inspections to comply with Capella Standards.
Maintains Hotel's product knowledge, Room standards and cooperation with Rooms Division and all hotel's colleagues.
Supports, manages and handles all Fire and Life Safety complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts.
Monitors CCTV and controls operations center accurately reports as required.
Ensure that the security department runs with legality and conformity to established regulations
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; Reading professional publications; maintain personal network: participating in professional development activities
Professionally conducts day to day security operations as directed
Response to any onsite emergency or first-aid requirements

Talent Profile

General Education Certification/Diploma
High School certificate 1AC security license and military experience preferred
Minimum 3 years in security industry
First Aid certified training and CPR/AED experienced and certified
Advanced life support certified
Computer literate in MS Word, Excel, Power point and Outlook
Effective communication skill
Valid working rights in Australia
RSA
